Democratic lawmaker Mihail Solcan has told IPN that he is impatiently waiting for the signing and then the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. According to him, Moldova was given the unique chance of associating itself with the EU and this chance should not be missed.

Within a survey conducted by IPN among lawmakers, Mihail Solcan said that Moldova already tried during a very long period of time to grow and develop as an independent state within the CIS and it’s now the right time to follow the path to the EU, but the relations of friendship with Russia should be kept.

“I will 300% vote for the ratification of this important agreement for Moldova and will do my utmost, as an MP, for the country to become associated with the EU. Real development on a long term is ensured if we follow the path to the European Union, but not to the detriment of the country’s relations of friendship. Moldova is a small country and we must be on friendly terms with everyone,” he stated.

The Association Agreement will be signed on June 27 and is to be ratified by Moldova’s Parliament by the end of July.
