Mihail Sava wins bronze at Poland Open

Mihail Sava ranked third at the international wresting tournament held in Poland. He scored three victories in the 70 kg class and, in the battle for the bronze, managed to beat 8-5 Akzhurek Tanatarov of Kazakhstan, who is a medalist of the 2012 London Olympics, IPN reports.

Earlier, Andrei Perpelita won silver in the 61 kg class after defeating 18-10 world vice champion Beka Lomtadze of Georgia in the semifinals. In the final, Perpelita lost to Georgian Olympic champion Vladimer Khinchegashvili, who also beat him at this year’s European championships, where the Moldovan wrester won bronze.

Nicolae Ceban also struggled for a medal. In the 97 kg class, he won a victory, but in the quarterfinals lost to Georgia’s Elizbar Odikadze, who ultimately won bronze. The tournament ”Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski & Poland Open” also involved Maxim Sacultan (65 kg) and Denis Balaur (86 kg).
