The article forms part of IPN’s information campaign that presents biographical data, information about the incomes and property and professional experience of candidates for mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau.

Mihail Polyanski contends for the post of mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau on behalf of the Civic Congress Party that was founded by former Communist MPs Mark Tkachuk and Iurie Muntean.

Mihail Polyanski was born on May 20, 1980 in Chisinau. He is an anthropologist and a journalist by profession. He worked for a number of editorial offices.

He sat on legislatures No. 15, 17 and 19 on behalf of the Party of Communists. He left the PCRM in 2014 and is one of the founders of the Civic Congress. Currently, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Civic Congress Party and the leader of the party’s municipal organization.

For the period between January 1 and December 31, 2022, he declared 5,505 lei earnings as political adviser from the Civic Congress Party. He also declared a car made in 1987, which he purchased in 2014 for 25,000 lei. He owns a 100% holding worth 5,400 lei in the advertising company “Media Alternativ” SRL. He is the co-founder of the public association “Lectorium-Chișinău”.

In the public sphere, Mihail Polyanski said that the current mayor of Chisinau showed that the city can be changed, but what has been done is not enough for a European city. There are shortcomings as regards openness, transparency and major infrastructure projects.

“The Civic Congress for these elections has a concrete and implementable program and not only for districts or particular communes. We know how to stop the extension of the desert and to restore the vineyards, orchards, drinking water in Moldova. We know how to create a modern country without division between the capital city and the provinces, between the boulevards of the capital city and the streets of district centers, between the incomes of the inhabitants of Chisinau and the paltry salaries of the inhabitants of other regions, between “elite” medicine in the capital city and that in regions, between prestigious education in Chisinau and that in the “other” Moldova!”, the party said in a statement.

As it was decided by draw, Mihail Polyanski will be next to No. 11 on the ballot.
