The penal case against Mihail Formuzal, mayor of the Ciadar-Lunga town and chairman of the National Council of the Republican People’s Party (PPR) was given to the court of Cahul, according to PPR press report. According to it, Penal College of Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) decided to move the case, as result of a letter addressed to the chairman of the Court of Vulcanesti, requiring the examination of the case by the College of three judges, which was accepted and given for examination to CSJ. Formuzal motivated his letter through the necessity to diminish the possibilities to make pressure on the court by the authorities of the autonomy. PPR required in the mid of March „public and transparent examination of the case against Formuzal, leader of Public Movement “Gagauzia Unita” in the presence of the representatives of civil society and mass media”. In the same document of the formation, it was mentioned that this campaign of Communits authorities of has a single aim – to make impossible his participation in the election of bascan of UTA Gagauz-Yeri, foreseen for the end of this year. Many cases were started against Formuzal, which later were joined in one case. Recently, at a press conference, members of the Movement „Edinaia Gagauzia” said that authorities of UTA Gagauzia make pressure on Formuzal in order to impede him to participate in next elections. They also mentioned that in order to keep at the power after the elections of the head of the autonomy, current bascan, Gheorghe Tabunsic, introduced in the region a personal dictatorship regime.
