Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be making a working visit to the United States during July 9-11. He will participate in a series of activities at the NATO Summit in Washington, IPN reports.
The Moldovan official will take part, at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in the ceremonies dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the creation of the North Atlantic Alliance and will deliver a speech at the “NATO Partnerships” forum. Also, Mihai Popșoi will have a series of meetings with counterparts and officials from NATO member countries and partner countries.
“During the talks, the Deputy Prime Minister will reiterate the national interest of the Republic of Moldova in strengthening the traditional and credible partnership with the North Atlantic Alliance. Also, Mihai Popșoi will underline the importance of promoting democratic reforms in the field of national resilience, given the international security environment in continuous transformation, which is especially affected by the geopolitical crises in the region and the world,” reads a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2024, the Republic of Moldova marks 30 years since the establishment of the partnership with the North Atlantic Alliance and 10 years since the launch of the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo.
