Mihai Popșoi met with co-chairs of friendship group for Moldova in U.S. Congress

The Republic of Moldova firmly supports the Ukrainian friends and is ready to get involved in Ukraine’s reconstruction, to offer wartime aid, to ensure grain transit and shelter refugees, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi, who had a meeting with the co-chairs of the Moldova Friendship Caucus within the U.S. Congress, Michael Lawler and Deborah Ross.

“I emphasized the importance of continuing offering assistance to Ukraine and supporting it in promoting democracy on the entire European continent,” said the head of the Moldovan diplomatic service, being quoted by IPN.

The interlocutors discussed the regional security situation, political developments in the Republic of Moldova, challenges associated with the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as the priorities regarding the European integration dimension, including the reform efforts aimed at contributing to the opening of EU accession negotiations.

The foreign minister underlined the constant assistance provided by the congressmen, including by promoting resolutions supporting Moldova’s reform agenda.
