Mihai Popșoi in Kiev: Joining EU as soon as possible is common goal of Moldova and Ukraine

Moldova and Ukraine have a common goal – to join the European Union as soon as possible. The natural place of Moldova and Ukraine is in the big European family, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi said during a visit to Kiev, where he met with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, IPN reports.

“We agreed to strengthen the bilateral dialogue between our countries and to cooperate more closely in the economic, trade, social sectors, including in the development of cross-border infrastructure. We also conferred on the progress made by both of the countries on the path of European integration and decided to intensify the exchange of information and the best practices in this field,” said the minister.

The two officials discussed the organization of a new meeting of the Moldova-Ukraine-Romania trilateral in May in Chisinau. Mihai Popșoi assured Dmytro Kuleba that Moldova will firmly support Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.

During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, together with his Ukrainian counterpart, laid flowers at the commemorative wall in honor of the heroes who died for the freedom of Ukraine.
