The big “cleanup” will start at the first sitting of the new Government and at the next sitting of Parliament, for the institutions managed by the two authorities, said Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mihai Popșoi. According to him, the persons in conflict with the law will not be present in state institutions, while the shortage of staff is not a reason for leaving corrupt persons in posts, IPN reports.
The Deputy Speaker said that at the first sitting of the new Government, the managers of the agencies subordinated to the executive will be replaced. The institutions managed by Parliament will also have their chiefs substituted, in strict compliance with the law.
“We want to give a signal of democracy, Europeanism, observance of the law. The administration of the Public Property Agency, the Public Services Agency, the National Anticorruption Center will definitely be changed,” Mihai Popșoi stated in the talk show “Shadow Cabinet” on JurnalTV channel.
Mihai Popșoi noted the corrupt persons from public institutions try to mimic affinities with the views of the new administration so as to keep their posts. But this will not do. The decent persons who worked with everyone and didn’t commit abuses are not in danger. There is a shortage of staff, but this is not an excuse for keeping immoral persons.
Among the public institutions responsible to Parliament are the National Bank, the Competition Council, the National Commission for Financial Markets, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the National Integrity Authority, the Central Election Commission, the Audiovisual Council and others.
