Mihai Gribincea named Ambassador to Belgium

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu issued a decree whereby Mihai Gribincea was appointed as Ambassador of Moldova to Belgium, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the presidential press service. Mihai Gribincea is a diplomat. He worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said Mihai Gribincea has a rich experience and could be also named Moldova's Ambassador to the Netherlands and Luxemburg and Moldova's Representative to NATO to hold the posts simultaneously. Earlier, Igor Bodiu was confirmed as Ambassador to Azerbaijan, while Iurie Bodrug as Ambassador to Poland by presidential decrees. Moldova's Ambassador to Austria Valeriu Chiveri was also appointed as Permanent Representative to the OSCE and the United Nations Office at Vienna. By another decree, Tatiana Parvu was confirmed as Moldova's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe. Last week, political analyst Igor Munteanu, the head of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul”, was named Moldova's Ambassador to the U.S. If Igor Munteanu is accepted by the U.S. authorities for the post, he is to be approved by the Government and confirmed to the position by presidential decree.
