“The national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova is a World War I tank that tries to plow the fields using technologies of 2009,” the MP and vice president of the Liberal-Democratic Party Mihai Godea said during a program on the radio station “Vocea Basarabiei”. According to Godea, Teleradio-Moldova should be reorganized as it acts and uses money in an unreasonable way and the ratio of investment to product is illogical. Besides being a propaganda instrument of the Communists, the company's product, including entertainment, leave much to be desired. The MP said that he cannot understand how it can spend money, but produce nothing. Mihai Godea also said that Teleradio-Moldova must be reformed from political and technical viewpoints. Besides necessary equipment, it should have professionals who would produce programs with the investments made in this company. He is sure that Teleradio-Moldova could become a self-managed company and need no money from the state budget if it is correctly run. But there are no intentions now to give the company autonomy as the extra-budgetary resources are a source of income for certain circles. The MP said that the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) will be making effort to transform Teleradio-Moldova into a truly public broadcaster and its administration will have to report to the Parliament on its actions. Recently, the administration of the national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova ignored the MPs' requests to come to the Parliament for hearings, to provide airtime for the AEI leaders and to broadcast the legislative body's hearings live.
