Mihai Godea suggests solutions for social development of Chisinau
The independent candidate for mayor of Chisinau Mihai Godea, in a press briefing on May 29, presented his social platform for the capital city, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the candidate's electoral staff.
The platform contains seven steps aimed at ensuring the social protection and development of the municipality. Mihai Godea pleads for:
1. Care and support for the disadvantaged people;
2. Support for the young people;
3. Ensuring of high quality education;
4. Healthcare services for everyone;
5. Transformation of Chisinau into a capital of culture;
6. Provision of recreational and rehabilitation services for people;
7. Making businesses socially responsible.
Referring to the mass media reports about the People's Party, the candidate said that he did not register this party and has no relations with it. “Somebody is trying to make a connection between the People's Party and my statement that I will represent the Party of the People. As an MP elected by the people, it is absolutely logical for me to represent the people,” said Godea.
“If sombre finds it difficult to understand the metaphors, I advise them to read literature. I do not know the persons who registered the People's Party, but I give them copyright on the metaphor, if they want to use it.”
The social development is one of the seven principles for modernizing and rehabilitating the municipality of Chisinau, presented by Mihai Godea on May 16. In the ballot for the mayoralty of Chisinau, Godea is under No. 14.
According to the communique, Mihai Godea resigned from the position of first vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party because he was dissatisfied with the reform implementation pace. Though he gave up the posts occupied in the Alliance for European Integration, he expressed his loyalty towards the European reform objectives, stressing he will be able to more efficiently contribute to the stability of the ruling alliance and the success of the reforms as an independent politician.
