Mihai Godea initiates procedure for dismissing Government

Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea, who heads the Democratic Action Party (PAD), has initiated the procedure for giving a vote of no confidence to the Government of Moldova. In a news conference on February 25, the lawmaker said he will send the bill to this effect to all the parliamentary groups, Info-Prim Neo reports. “There is no parliamentary majority any longer and the executive does not enjoy political support. I do not see how the Government’s work program can be implemented until the end. I do not see how the necessary reform bills can be promoted and how the political class will ensure Moldova’s European course,” stated Mihai Godea. He said the moment of truth has come and the people must know who rules the country and who is in the opposition. He also said he will initiate the procedure for dismissing Head of Parliament Marian Lupu too if he does not fulfill his promise to resign together with the Premier. The bill to give a vote of no confidence to the Government must be signed by at least 26 lawmakers.
