Mihai Godea demands questioning Filat, Lupu and Efrim

Unaffiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea filed an application to the Prosecutor General’s Office, whereby he asks questioning Acting President Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim in connection with the statements they made after the Constitutional Court declared the liquation of the economic courts as unconstitutional, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”Immediately after the decision was passed, opinions were expressed as regards the illegal influencing of the decision of the Constitutional Court judges. There were made statements about passive corruption, economic interests and large sums of money invested in the Court’s decision,” Mihai Godea said in a press briefing. He stressed that the given case has a special resonance and major public interests can be affected. Thus, the aspects revealed by the statesmen should be examined. “They must be questioned additionally so as to see if there are conditions for taking legal action over passive corruption, traffic of influence, and abuse of power,” said Mihai Godea. Based on a challenge filed by Communist MPs Sergiu Sirbu, Artur Reshetnikov and Igor Vremea, the Constitutional Court ruled that the liquation of the economic courts was unconstitutional.
