Mihai Ghimpu voted for and against
Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party (PL), and his wife Dina Ghimpu voted at the polling place set up at N. Gogol High School in Chisinau at 11.00. “I voted both pro and against,” Mihai Ghimpu told the reports, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Mihai Ghimpu came to the polling place on foot. Before entering the voting booth, Ghimpu asked the members of the electoral offices if all the ballots were in order.
“I voted against Communism as the people should realize that where there is Communism there is poverty. Instead, I voted for a better life for the elderly and the children, for a free press and a state of law, for a life that we’ve deserved for many years,” the PL leader said.
Asked about the PL’s chances of entering the Parliament, Mihai Ghimpu said that the PL is already in Parliament even if the exact percentage is not yet known. “I’m not selfish and mean. I want more parties to enter the Parliament, but not the Communists and their satellites.”
When asked if he will hold the post of municipal council after elections, Mihai Ghimpu said he will make a decision after April 5. “I’m impulsive, but also calculated,” the PL leader said.
Dina Ghimpu said she voted for changes. “In particular, I vote for human dignity because it has been crushed for many years,” she added.
