Sometimes we must take decisions without consulting the people if we want to go on, the Liberal Party’s head Mihai Ghimpu stated in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“Stephan the Great also didn’t ask the people if these wanted him to go and fight the Turks. If he had asked, we wouldn’t have existed today. The people should not blame everyone, but should identify those to blame. Democracy means struggle for ideas, not with pitchforks and this does not mean that tomorrow life will be better. We showed that we are a party that promotes people’s interests and the people will soon take our side,” said Liberals’ leader.
Mihai Ghimpu approved of the PDM’s role in forming the parliamentary majority. “The Democratic Party helped us in 2009 too. Owing to them, we formed the parliamentary majority and followed the European path,” he added.
He yet leveled criticism at the PLDM, especially the party’s former leader Vlad Filat. “The parties are not designed for enriching someone by stealing millions as some did. The fissure in the alliance appeared because of them. We thus face delays in implementing the Association Agreement,” said Ghimpu.
