Mihai Ghimpu: Reconstitution of AEI depends on PL's and PLDM's ability to convince PD to form coalition
The reconstitution of the Alliance for European Integration depends on the ability of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Liberal Party (PL) to convince the Democratic Party (PDM) to form a coalition, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said after the meeting with the leaders of the PDM, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Liberal leader said it is not easy to negotiate with a party that can choose between two ways, but anyway the Liberal-Democratic coalition may be reconstituted. Mihai Ghimpu said that until no agreement was signed, there are chances. He stated that they did not discuss posts and portfolios, but only values and government principles.
For his part, the Democrat leader Marian Lupu said that discussions are now held with all the leaders of the political parties as it is natural to exchange opinions. He also said that they did not discuss the distribution of posts. He added that the PDM is for Moldova's integration into the EU and for the implementation of democratic reforms.
The Liberal Party at the meeting was represented by Mihai Ghimpu, Anatol Salaru and Ion Hadarca, while the Democratic Party – by Marian Lupu, Vlad Plahotniuc and Dumitru Diacov.
