The Political Bureau of the Liberal Party (PL) will decide whether the Liberal faction will vote for Iurie Leanca as Prime Minister or nor, the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu said after the consultations held with President Nicolae Timofti at the State Residence, IPN reports. “Nicolae Timofti informed us that Iurie Leanca was designated as a candidate for premiership. We said that we will yet hold discussions and the Political Bureau will take a decision,” stated the Liberal leader.
Mihai Ghimpu also said that the PL is ready to discuss Iurie Leanca’s candidacy with the pro-European parties, but noted that an agreement between two parties is not a majority.
On January 27, Nicolae Timofti holds consultations with four parliamentary groups with a view to designating a candidate for the post of Premier. The PLDM proposed Iurie Leanca for premiership and the PDM said they will vote for him, while the Communists put forward a number of conditions.
