The Liberal Party (PL) will have its own candidate in the presidential elections, but hasn’t yet chosen a candidate, the party’s chairman Mihai Ghimpu said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“We haven’t yet decided who our candidate will be. It is too early. But we will definitely have our own candidate for President. They already started to speculate that we reached an agreement with someone. This is not true,” stated Ghimpu.
The chairman of the PL expressed his conviction that there will be two rounds of presidential elections. “I think there will be 10-12 candidates in the first round, but only two will remain in the second round and the great struggle will be given then,” he stated.
The Liberals’ leader noted that he is against reducing the number of MPs, as the Platform “Dignity and Truth” suggests. “The problem resides not in the number of MPs, but in the fact that many of these are thieves,” said Ghimpu.
