Mihai Ghimpu offers apologies to employees of Scut regiment
Acting President Mihai Ghimpu apologized in the name of the country's administration to the officers of the patrol and sentinel regiment Scut for the unwise steps taken by the former governors during the violent events of April 7, 2009. He made the apologies during the events held to celebrate 15 years of the creation of the regiment, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“You shouldn't have been placed in the front line as the Ministry of the Interior has specially trained forces for such cases,” Ghimpu said, adding that all the orders given by the former administration during the April 2009 events were illegal and directed against the people.
Mihai Ghimpu assured that such cases will not happen in the future and all the actions taken by the administration will be in accordance with the laws of a democratic state, where the human rights and freedoms are respected by all the institutions and their managers.
