The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu believes that the newly invested Government will not resist long. The politician said that Moldova needs not a formal Government, but a parliamentary majority that would support the executive’s initiatives. Such statements were made after the Parliament sitting where the Gaburici Government was invested, IPN reports.
“I’m glad that our assertions came true – the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party from the very beginning didn’t want an alliance with the Liberal Party. This game was played to help Vladimir Voronin to appear as a savior. The voting in Parliament in the future will be like the vote we witnessed today. We could not reach a decision about the distribution of ministerial portfolios during two months, but today, in half an hour it was decided that Oleg Efrim should be replaced at Voronin’s request. This is the proof that namely the Communists direct and manage this tacit majority,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.
The politician anticipated that things will only worsen. “The games played before the people are one thing, but playing before the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Commission is another thing. We wish good luck to this Government. We want things to return to normality. It’s yet hard to believe that the PCRM will accept the reforms that Moldova must do,” he said, adding that the Communists will soon show who they are.
Mihai Ghimpu noted that he does not know all the agreements between the PLDM, PDM and PCRM, but does not exclude that these parties shared the main state posts between them.
