Mihai Ghimpu keeps candidates for SIS for better times
The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said the party has many candidates for the post of director of the Security and Information Service, but will put them forward only if the parliamentary majority is preserved, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”No SIS head can be dismissed without reason. We need specialists. The people should not be changed by every government. If we go on like this, we will arrive nowhere. I expect stability. We should be more attentive to the SIS when it is about the state security,” Mihai Ghimpu told the press after the ruling alliance’s meeting on October 25.
The SIS director Gheorghe Mihai was dismissed by Parliament at the request of Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who argued the official did not take appropriate steps to deal with the raider attacks on banking institutions.
When the agreement to constitute the Alliance for European Integration 2 was signed, the post of SIS head was given to the Liberal Party.
