Mihai Ghimpu will vote for the dismissal of Dorin Dragutanu from the post of governor of the National Bank even if he is convinced that this person is not to blame for the stealing from three banks. The leader of the Liberal Party made this statement in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

Ghimpu argued that there is considerable pressure in society. “The problem of the governor’s dismissal wasn’t yet raised. But if the issue is put to the vote, I will vote in favor. The pressure is too great. We proposed Dragutanu for the post and now those from the ruling alliance will use this against the Liberals, even if I never gave instructions to Dragutanu,” he said.

Mihai Ghimpu also said that Ilan Shor is not the main person to blame for the large theft from the banking system. “The people want the head of Motoc and the head of Dragutanu or Shor is not the head of Motoc. Motoc is behind Shor and pulls the strings. Shor is his chair, his Mercedes or plane. It was impossible to steal such a sum without the involvement of political leaders from government, while Grecheanyi and Dodon should keep silent as they also robbed Banca de Economii when they were in power. Mihai Ghimpu considers that if this large-scale theft hadn’t existed, Moldova could have submitted an application for obtaining the status of candidate for accession to the EU at the Riga Summit. “They hit in the heart of Moldova’s future,” he said.
