Mihai Ghimpu: I voted to bring back democracy at Chisinau City Hall

The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said he voted to bring democracy back to the Chisinau City Hall and to restore the people’s confidence in democracy, IPN reports.

According to the Liberal leader, welfare, justice and freedom cannot exist without democracy. “I voted for the most prepared and the most hard-working candidate who knows to love, to work and to manage and who held different posts and showed that he entered politics for the sake of the people, not for his own benefit,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.

He also said he voted for the projects launched by ex-mayor Dorin Chirtoaca to be continued, for the unity of the Romanian people. “When the people vote for the mayor general of Chisinau municiplaity, they vote for the union of the two capital cities,” noted the Liberal leader.

Eleven candidates are running for the mayoralty of Chisinau. For the elections to be valid, the voter turnout should be of at least one fourth of the voters, which is 157 919 people.
