Mihai Ghimpu has right to asks for posts at PGO, EU Ambassador
The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel considers the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu has the right to ask his colleagues to offer them posts at the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO). He stressed that the work of the PGO should not be yet be politically influenced, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on March 27, Dirk Schuebel made public a series of conclusions concerning the political situation in Moldova. “I think that Mihai Ghimpu has the right to make such a request, but I’m not the one who takes such decisions. It is the government that finds experts and should name the best specialists in this field,” said the EU Ambassador.
As to the quality of the services and posts in every sector, Dirk Schuebel said that it should not depend on the political beliefs. There must be promoted the principle of neutrality and justice should reach the highest level.
After the head of state was elected, Mihai Ghimpu said the Liberal Party can now ask for the post of prosecutor general as it allowed the Democratic Party to hold the post of Head of Parliament that belonged to it. His alliance colleagues said that they will have discussions on the issue.
