Mihai Ghimpu: Dorin Chirtoaca’s arrest is political order

The arrest of Dorin Chirtoaca is a political order that involves Moscow. Igor Dodon is the main orchestrator and the ex-deputy chairman of the Liberal Party Anatol Salaru also made a contribution, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu stated in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

“It’s clear that it is a political order. Next year we are to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Union with Romania. Dorin intended to organize activities to celebrate the event, while Moscow does not want this. It is about geopolitics,” stated Ghimpu.

According to the Liberal heavyweight, the members of the Liberal Party started to have problems after Igor Dodon was elected President, but this could be also revenge taken by Anatol Salaru, who remained without the party’s political support last yearend.

The Liberal leader made it clear that the Democratic Party also wants to control the Chisinau City Hall. “Chisinau is important for winning the elections. We will see who occupies the seat of Dorin Chirtoaca - Alexandru the Greatest or someone else. I will tell you whose hand it is, Dodon’s or Plahotniuc’s,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.
