Mihai Ghimpu believes AEI does not need new agreement
“I do no need another document,” the chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said, referring to Premier Vlad Filat’s assertion that a new agreement imposing responsibility in the European integration process is needed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We have a government program saying the European integration is the major goal. The ruling alliance is called the Alliance for European Integration. Why should I now confirm again that I’m Mihai Ghimpu?” the Liberal leader said in a discussion with the journalists after the Parliament’s sitting.
The head of the Democratic parliamentary group Dumitru Diacov said that if a new agreement is proposed, it must be sincere. “I believe more in verbal promises and sincere discussions with the people. I was a witness to the signing of many documents, whose authors did not keep their word or did not respect them. We will see. Everyone should take part in the formulation of that document,” said Dumitru Diacov.
In a program on the channel Publika TV, Vlad Filat said that a new agreement should be signed in order to break the deadlock experienced by the AEI. According to the Premier, the document is being drafted and it centers on Moldova’s behavior in the European integration process.
