Vlad Filat betrayed the people, but a person who betrayed the people’s interests cannot be Prime Minister, the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said after the April 3 consultations with President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.
Mihai Ghimpu stated that there are two Constitutionals Court decisions under which, after the dismissal of the Government, the head of state must name an acting Premier who will serve until a new Government is formed. “The President must appoint an acting Prime Minister. All the decisions signed by Vlad Filat until now are illegal,” said the Liberal leader.
He also said that if early elections are held, they will be caused by Vlad Filat. However, Mihai Ghimpu hopes they will be avoided.
On April 3 Nicolae Timofti held new consultations with the leaders of the factions of the former AEI, aimed at identifying a candidate for premiership.
