The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation approved in the first reading a bill providing that the migrants can stay in Russia for 90 days without the intention to work there, but those who will indicate in the migration card that they came to Russia to work will have to purchase a work patent. Otherwise, they will face penalties for violating the labor legislation and may be expelled and banned from entering Russia, IPN reports.
According to the head of the Congress of the Moldovan Diaspora in Russia Alexandr Kalinin, it’s not enough for the Moldovans to leave Russia after staying there for 90 days and then return as they will be anyway punished if they are caught breaking the law.
The Moldovans who work in Russia must also know that the patents are distributed according to regions. If a Moldovan intends to work in Moscow region, he must receive the patent namely for this region.
Alexandr Kalinin said that the migration legislation of Russia will be significantly modified in 2014. He urged the Moldovan people to inform themselves on time about this.
