The microenterprises risk going bankrupt as they lack reserve financial resources and owing to their total or partial closing, executive director of the Alliance of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Moldova (AIM) Liliana Busuioc stated in a meeting with Ion Chicu. She asked to consider a sector approach to the support measures taking into account the businesses that were most affected by the state of emergency, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the AIM, Liliana Busuioc spoke about the abuses committed by the police and requested the Government to provide clear information as regards the interpretation of the law to the business community so as to avoid abuses and constraints.
It was decided that the Common Call Center of the State Tax Service (080001525) from March 20 will undertake the informational support provided to business entities. Other constraints, clarifications and proposals can be addressed to the Secretariat of the Economic Council working under the Premier.
In the meeting, Premier Chicu said that maintaining the budgetary-fiscal stability and financing social obligations are among the priorities, noting that the situation changes daily and the actions depend on the developments.
There were presented the support measures that will be implemented. The payment of the income tax on entrepreneurial activity for the first quarter of 2020 will be made by June 25. The declaration and payment of the income tax for 2019 by individual entrepreneurs or peasant farmsteads that are not VAT payers and have by at most three salary earners and by business entities that form part of the SME sector will be possible by April 25, 2020.
The period for examining cases of violation of the fiscal and customs legislation or for examining fiscal and customs challenges submitted during the period of the state of emergency will be extended by 30 days. As of May 1, the VAT will be reduced from 20% to 15% for the hospitality industry. Also, a moratorium will be imposed on all the state inspections during the state of emergency.
