MFAEI’s comment on Moscow statements: Government has a firm mandate to keep peace

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) vehemently condemns the new comments made by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, dismissing them as untrue and unsubstantiated. The comment comes after the Russian Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the administration in Chisinau follows a direction that goes against the people and destroys the country for those who pay money, IPN reports.

The MFAEI noted that the Government has a firm mandate from the citizens to keep peace, maintain security and democracy in the Republic of Moldova. It works in the interests of its citizens and made an irreversible commitment to build a strong and prosperous European Moldova, for the benefit of all the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova.

“From the very first day of war, we have condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine as this conflict causes destruction and suffering in the neighboring country, in the region and across the European continent. As a responsible member of the international community, the Republic of Moldova is firmly committed to the efforts to promote peace and stability all over the world,” the MFAEI said in a press release.

“We are resolute in our determination to become a member state of the European Union and this objective is supported by most of our citizens. We will continue working with the greatest devotion and resoluteness so as to achieve this objective, rejecting any attempt to undermine our efforts by disseminating false and manipulative accusations,” says the Ministry’s comment.
