MFAEI hosts meeting of Moldova’s ambassadors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on August 16-17 will host a meeting of the ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova. The meeting will center on the evolution of the international relations in the recent period, including the progress made by Moldova in the process of joining the EU, IPN reports.

“The event will focus on issues related to the implementation of the foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova and the setting of new tasks and priorities for the short and medium terms, the assessment of the work done by the diplomatic missions and the improvement of their efficiency,” the Ministry said in a press release.

The problems faced by the diaspora and methods of ensuring the social protection of Moldovans abroad will be high on the agenda. In this regard, the ambassadors will take part in the Diaspora Day and the Diaspora Business Forum.

To optimize the work of embassies and to formulate concrete tasks for the institutions of the diplomatic service, the ambassadors will have meetings with President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and other managers of state institutions.

A number of ministers of foreign affairs will take part in the meeting as special invitees through videoconferencing.
