All the Chisinau churches will ring their bells in the morning of October 14 in honour of the Protection of the Mother of God feast and of the City Day. The bells in the belfry of the metropolitan Nativity Cathedral will ring uninterruptedly for about a quarter, starting at 08.00, until the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, His Holiness Vladimir will reach the place of prayer. Nicolae Gancearuc, bell ringer of the metropolitan Cathedral, told Info-Prim Neo that it is a tradition to welcome the church officials with long-lasting bell rings. As during other important holidays, the bell “Annunciation” will ring alongside the smaller bells. The sound of this bell is longer and more melodious. After the Divine Liturgy, the bells will be rung again in three rounds and once again, by tradition, before the evening service.
