Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir urges citizens to go and vote, but to attend service before that

Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir urges the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to go and vote on October 20, when “we will decide not only who will be at the helm of the country, as President, in the next four years, but also what will be our way further”,  reads a message published on the official website of the Metropolitan Church of Moldova, IPN reports.

“Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, dear fellow citizens, an important civic event will take place on October 20,” said the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir. He urges the citizens to be responsible and go to the polls, regardless of the political preferences.

“As the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, but also as a fellow citizen, I urge you all to conscientiously fulfill this duty that we all have, regardless of personal political views and preferences, and to be responsible from a civic point of view,” stressed the Metropolitan Bishop. For the choice to be correct, Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir urges the citizens on the morning of October 20 to go to church first, for the service.

“And before making this important decision, I urge you to consult with the wisest and most impartial Counselor – our Savior Jesus Christ – at the Holy and Divine Liturgy, then to make the decision you consider right. So, let’s be sensible because not only our present, but also the future of the generations to come depend on our votes on this day. With hierarchical blessings and love in Christ, Vladimir,” reads the message.
