The Educational Advising Center has announced the 22nd edition of the Merit Scholarship Program, which is intended for the best students of the country. The program is organized under aegis of the Council of Chancellors of Moldova, with the financial support of BC Moldova Agroindbank SA and Orange Moldova, IPN reports.
Within the program, 50 stipends of 12 000 Moldovan lei each are offered, on a contest basis, as follows: 35 stipends for last year undergraduate students and 15 stipends for first year graduate students.
To take part in the contest, the candidates must meet the following requirements: be citizens and residents of the Republic of Moldova under 30 inclusive, be last year undergraduate students in full-time education (of 2018 class) at one of the higher education establishments of Moldova (exception: branches of foreign universities based in Moldova) or first year graduate students in full-time education at one of the higher education establishments of Moldova (exception: branches of foreign universities based in Moldova).
The students must have a good academic standing and an average grade for all the years of studies higher than 9 in humanities, 8.5 in exact, technical and medical-biological sciences and 8 in the case of students with disabilities and/or orphans. They should also demonstrate that they took part in curricular and extra-curricular activities (mandatorily).
Those who benefited/benefit from scholarships won at other contests announced in the calendar year 2017 - Scholarship of the Republic, Scholarship of the Government, Scholarship of the President, including other state and private scholarships programs (except for university scholarships), those who benefitted from the Merit Scholarship 2016 and a series of other students are not eligible.
The deadline for applications is January 25, 2018, 5pm.
To be enrolled, the candidates must present a complete application file. The list of documents is indicated in the application form and in the program’s regulations that can be requested from the Educational Advising Center or downloaded from www.eac.md. The form is available in Romanian and Russian. The application files can be submitted in person or sent by ordinary mail (by recommended letter “Moldova’s Post Office”) to the address: MD 2012 Chisinau municipality, 16 Pushkin St, Educational Advising Center, with the mention “for Merit Scholarship Contest”.
