The Cabinet on September 19 approved the list of students of higher education establishments and post-secondary technical professional education institutions that will receive merit scholarships during the 2017-2018 academic year. The scholarships will be provided by each education institution within the limits of the budgetary allocations earmarked for the purpose, IPN reports.

Twelve university students will get the Scholarship of the Republic in the amount of 1,385 lei, while 30 students will benefit from the Government’s Scholarship to the value of 1,155 lei. Twenty Gaudeamus Scholarships of 840 lei will be given to students of technical professional education institutions.

The lists of candidates were first approved by the senates of universities and teachers’ councils of post-secondary technical professional institutions. The winners were chosen according to such criteria as average grade, participation in educational, sports and cultural activities, existence of publications and recommendation letters.
