Mercury and Tramadol pills illegally sold in Chisinau
A woman and a man were caught in the act of receiving money from a person for 2 kg of mercury and 2,000 pills Tramadol. They face up to seven years in prison if found guilty, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of the Interior.
Officers of the Ministry of the Interior found out that a group of persons intended to sell 2-3 kg of mercury for €100,000. It was established that the group also offered for sale Ecstasy and Tramadol pill. The woman owned the merchandise, while the man sold it. According to the police, the mercury was stolen from a Russian factory, while the pills were supplied by sources from Romania. The traffickers asked for €5,000 for 2,000 Tramadol pills.
The 58-year-old man is from Ungheni town. He was earlier tried for trafficking in drugs. Measures are being taken to identify the persons in Russia and Romania involved in this scheme.
