A Moldovan was arrested by the police on suspicion that he worked as a mercenary for Ukrainian separatist-extremist entities. The 32-year-old man is from Transnistria and was remanded in custody for 30 days, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspect cooperated with prosecutors within the investigation. It was established that this worked for a militarized group of Donetsk town.
The man faces up to seven years in jail. The law enforcement bodies warn about the gravity and danger of becoming involved in armed conflicts, military operations or other violent events aimed at overthrowing the government or undermining the constitutional power and at violating the territorial integrity of the state.
