Men to be judged for counterfeiting money, documents
The prosecutor's office from Dubasari district sent the court the file of two men, aged 25 and 23, who are suspected of counterfeiting and spreading money, and making, keeping and using false official documents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A press release issued by the General Prosecutor's Office specifies the men were held up in March, as they tried to sell forged money in amount of 50,000 lei to a policeman under cover. The prosecutors established the young men forged 103,000 lei, in 50-lei bills, which were confiscated in the criminal inquest.
In January 2009, in Chisinau, in order to get loan from a bank, the men forged a certificate confirming one of them was employed by a company and has an annual income of over 46,000 lei. The certificate was presented to the bank and they got 20,000 lei.
One of the young men, later in February 2009, made a false marriage certificate to get a room in the dormitory of the Agrarian University.
If proved guilty, the two men risk from 7 to 15 years in jail.
