Two young men from Vulcanesti, who a year ago killed their employer for whom they did construction works, were sentenced to life imprisonment, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the culprits were hired by the victim to repair the villa. As a result of a conflict, the two young men beat and tied the employer and threw him in the cellar. The body was found by neighbors.

The men stole money and possessions assessed at over 13,000 lei from the victim as well as the keys to his apartment in Chisinau municipality, from where they stole property to the value of about 120,000 lei. The victim’s car stolen by the two was found in a forest.

The culprits aged 19 and 20 got life for very cruel murder, burglary and theft. They were also obliged to pay 746,000 lei to the successor of the injured party in respect of pecuniary and non-pecuniary damage.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
