Two men from Balti are investigated for traffic of influence by officers of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors. These are suspected of taking bribe of €2,500 to €6,000 from a number of persons for influencing decision-makers of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure.  The total bribe exceeded €12,000, IPN reports.

According to a communique of the National Anticorruption Center, the denouncers said the men asked for money for exerting influence on employees of the Ministry so that these issued several types of authorizations.

The men were placed under arrest for 72 hours and face up to six years in jail or a fine of up to 80,000 lei. The case is managed by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
