Memory Day activities will cost almost 6m lei
The Government will spend almost 6 million lei on the activities that will be held to commemorate 20 years of the start of the armed conflict on the Nistru.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu, who heads the commission for organizing the events, has told Info-Prim Neo that 5 million lei will go to make medals. The commemorative cross for the defense of integrity and independence will be given to 28,000 war participants.
Over 700,000 lei will be used to organize different thematic conferences and meetings, to publish a book and to prepare departmental distinctions.
A sum of 245,000 lei will be spent on the commemoration meal organized by the Ministry of Defense. It will involve 800 combatants. The costs of the commemoration meals in districts will be covered by the local authorities.
The Memory Day is celebrated on March 2.
