Veterans of the Second World War will be involved in a Chisinau City Hall project to inform the young generation about the honors of the war and heroism of the soldiers. At Monday's meeting of the City Hall, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said all the veterans who are in good health are invited to take part in the project, no matter what army they fought with – the Soviet one or the Romanian one. The stories told by the veterans will be recorded on CDs and handed over to them for their personal archives, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor thanked all those who helped organize the activities dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory over fascism. He said that approximately 80% of the veterans received so far the 700 lei provided by the Chisinau administration. Hundreds of veterans took part in the commemorative dinners and remained satisfied. About 7,000 World War II veterans who fought as part of the Soviet army or Romanian army live in Chisinau at present.
