A plaque in memory of the Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka has been fixed up in Chisinau on the initiative of the Association “Plai Insorit”. The memorial tablet was installed on the facade of the Library of Ukrainian Literature bearing the poetess’ name. Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Sergey Pirozhkov and the famous composer Eugen Doga officiated at the unveiling ceremony. Lesya Ukrainka is one of Ukraine’s best-known poets and writers and the foremost woman writer in Ukrainian literature. Opened in 1991, the Library of Ukrainian Literature in Chisinau serves 4,500 readers annually.
