Memorandum of Principles and Procedures between Moldova and North Carolina

Moldova and North Carolina agreed a Memorandum of Principles and Procedures to strengthen the bilateral relations. The document was signed in Chisinau on October 8, IPN reports.

After the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur said that a partnership that was initially launched by experience exchange between the Ministry of Defense of Moldova and the North Carolina National Guard extended in time to other areas of cooperation, such as education, health and the humanitarian sector.

Now that the document was signed, cooperation projects will be launched in justice, public security, regional development, culture, tourism, environment protection and others. Andrei Galbur said the commercial-economic cooperation is another area where the bilateral dialogue will be developed.

North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall said the people of North Carolina increasingly like this project. “With its advancement, we discover benefits that we didn’t expect. We made friends in different areas and ascertained that Moldova does everything it does with passion. I understood that diplomacy from citizen to citizen is the only method of building sustainable friendship based on cooperation, not on force or other coercive methods,” stated  the U.S. official.

Over the next two weeks, a parliamentary delegation will be paying a visit to North Carolina.
