Members of the civic association Hyde Park ask for political asylum

The members of the civic association Hyde Park ask for political asylum in democratic countries. They explain their gesture by the fact that they are harassed by the law-enforcing bodies, being violated their rights established in the Constitution: the right to expression, the right to association and to the freedom of meetings, Info-Prim Neo reports In a statement by Hyde Park they say the decision to dissolve the organization was taken because it was harassed by the Justice Ministry, the Prosecutor's Office and the Fiscal Inspectorates. Because of pressures their number decreased from 100 to 17. Now we are a informal association, but independent. But we cannot work this way either. We feel menaced by the state, we are not confident in tomorrow and we cannot fight for our rights. “We decided to ask for political asylum in democratic countries from where we'll continue to fight for our rights”, reads the statement. According to the communique, Hyde Park has sent the ECHR a number of files exposing cases of violating the human rights, which are to be heard the coming months (6 dossiers from 9 were communicated to the Government and are waiting for the comments of the government's representative till July 31, 2008).
