Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (PA BSEC) signed a statement by which they ask the UN to recognize the PA BSEC at international level. Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, who was the chairman-in-office of the PA BSEC, said the organization’s status should be strengthened so as to broadly benefit from the existing opportunities, IPN reports.
On the last day of the 45th session of the PA BSEC, Moldova handed over the presidency of the organization to Romania. Andrian Candu said he is confident that Romania will achieve many results while holding the presidency.
A message from the President of Romania’s Senate Calin Popescu Tariceanu says that Romania aims to support all the initiatives that will help the countries from the Black Sea Region develop and will help improve the cooperation with other regional organizations. It is now the right moment to promote the accomplishments of the PA BSEC and the organization’s annual reports are welcome.
Another objective of the Romanian presidency is to promote the PA BSEC’s image of a reliable partner and to strengthen the relations with other regional organizations of which the 12 member states of the PA BSEC form part.
