Members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will be in Chisinau and Tiraspol to discuss the Transnistrian settlement process and encourage co-operation between parliamentarians on both sides of the Nistru River on June13-15, IPN reports, quoting a media advisory of the OSCE PA.
Meetings will be held with government and parliamentary officials, representatives of civil society, and officials from international organizations, including the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
The delegation includes the chair of the Parliamentary Team on Moldova and member of the Albanian Parliament Arta Dade, Rapporteur of the Second General Committee and member of the Italian Parliament Marietta Tidei and member of the French Parliament Thierry Mariani.
The purpose of the visit is to inform the Parliamentary Team on Moldova on recent developments in the Transnistrian settlement process, foster greater co-operation between the sides at the parliamentary level, and encourage political support for a long-term and comprehensive settlement.
