Members of international crime network arrested for human trafficking

The police arrested three members of an international group, which dealt with the trafficking of young Moldovan women. According to the data obtained, the girls were sent to Greece, through Turkey; later they were forced into prostitution in hotels, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the General Police Commissariat, the three suspects aged between 28 and 35 were preparing to traffic a 27 year old girl from Falesti by promising her a €500 salary. They would have received €2500 for recruiting and transporting the victim. The traffickers were arrested when trying to cross the state border via the Chisinau International Airport. The group leader is a 28-year-old man from Stefan Voda, known as “Kitaetz”. He had been previously tried for similar crimes and is searched by the Greek law enforcement bodies. Financers of this branch were two Moldovan citizens who live in Greece; they were also responsible for the placement of the girls in various hotels. One of them was to meet the victim in Istanbul. Proceedings on proxenetism were issued for this case. The accused risk 4 to 7 years in jail. The police are still investigating in an attempt to identify the other accomplices.
