Members of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) expressed their readiness to continue to fight against the socioeconomic course pursued by the Government and the parliamentary majority. The PSRM stated its full support for the political course pursued by President Igor Dodon and for his social initiatives. According to the party, given that all the initiatives are blocked by the Government and the parliamentary majority, the institution of the presidential form of government is the only method by which President Dodon can implement the mandate offered to him by the people. These are some of the theses stipulated in the resolution that was adopted in the demonstration staged by the PSRM in Chisinau on May 1, IPN reports.
The members and sympathizers of the PSRM organized themselves into two columns. One column set off from the Circus, while the second from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The participants marched on the streets of the capital city up to the Parliament Building, where a meeting was held. “We, the participants in the large-scale demonstration “For social justice and responsible governance”, the representatives of all the Moldovan communities, categorically oppose the policy pursued by the government regime in Moldova, which is aimed at liquidating Moldovan statehood and neutrality and at dismantling the country’s social system. During the past nine years, the Republic of Moldova has been on the verge of a socioeconomic collapse. The Euro-unionist oligarchic regime aims to liquidate Moldovan statehood, to destroy the economy and to dismantle the social system of the country,” reads the resolution.
The event involved President Igor Dodon. In his speech, he said the Republic of Moldova goes through a very difficult period. “This year is the Year of Stephan the Great and Holy of whom our whole nation is proud. But we also have an electoral year as local elections will be held in Chisinau and Balti municipalities, where we should win. Later, in this yearend’s parliamentary elections, the pro-statehood forces will have the last chance of saving the country from all kinds of thieves and unionists,” stated President Dodon.
“We, those who gathered here on the initiative of the Party of Socialists those who are not indifferent to the faith of the Republic of Moldova, say that this holiday for us is the most topical one. We want social justice. We want peace in the country. We want Moldova to be a piece of heaven for everyone. This is what we, the Moldovans, want,” stated the leader of the Party of Socialists Zinaida Grecheanyi. She noted the change can be brought about by the citizens, who can bring things in order at home, regardless of nationality, and the institution of the presidential republic is the first step in this direction.
The resolution also says that the next task in the preparations for the parliamentary elections is to hold internal elections to make sure that the best candidates who are trusted by people at the local level are fielded in single-member constituencies. According to the PSRM, these persons, after they score victories in single-member constituencies, will indeed become the people’s voice in the new Parliament of the country.
