A member of the international criminal organization “Borman”, who was extradited from Spain in summer, will appear before judges. The investigation into the case concerning the smuggling of 110 kilograms of hashish featuring him was completed, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the 46-year-old man from Ialoveni facilitated the purchase of hashish from Spain and its transportation to Russia via Moldova. As the organizer of the criminal group, he had been responsible for trafficking in drugs since 2013. He controlled the purchase and transportation of over 110 kg of drugs that were sold on the black market in Russia for an estimated 11 million lei.
The drugs were carried hidden in paint buckets and boilers. The illegalities continued even after the authorities discovered the offense in 2013.
Within this complex case, prosecutors charged the member of another group of this criminal organization who in May 2022 was extradited from France and also the leader of this group who was extradited from Spain.
The culprits face seven to 15 years in jail.
